Aimpoint Micro

Posted by on May 20, 2012 | No comments

I 4/15/2012 8:11:47 AMI am looking for opinions on whether I should go with the 2 or 4 moa on an Aimpoint Micro. I cant find a 2 moa Aimpoint Micro anywhere local to look at, so I would be ordering without seeing one. This will be for my DD m4 and will be my close quarters set up. My eyes are only getting older and worse with age. I am leaning towards the 4 moa for this reason. Anyone have both? I assume the 2 moa would be best for use with a 3x magnifier? Opinions and suggestions please. MRF54

5/1/2012 12:15:36 PM My issue wasn’t one of recoil reduction – it was all about the functionality/reliability. I did a LOT of research in multiple places about this when I was having issues and the same problem (and solution) kept coming up over and over again – overgassing. It appears that even if you aren’t exhibiting serious issues, your rifle may still be overgassed. For whatever reason, this just seems to be a fairly common issue with many of the 308 AR-Type rifles. Remember, the FAL also incorporates an adjustable gas system as a matter of design (yes, I know it’s a completely different op system). I don’t know if it’s the cartridge, the manufacturing tolerances, the scaled-up size of the system or a combination of all of the above but there is a reason why heavy buffers, increased-power springs, washers/quarters, and adjustable gas blocks are selling as well as they are for .308′s. At the end of the day, it completely alleviated the issues I was having and I now have the flexibility to tune the rifle to different ammunition types if I choose. YMMV, yada-yada… Brahmzy

] 3/18/2012 8:53:20 PM Love mine. The standard bulb bit the dust a while back and my new P60L will be here tommorow. Along with my new dual button switch so I can run the light and my PAQ4 together. Ill post pics and a review. Yes its heavy but I’m used to it. All the extra weight helps with recoil. Besides, the .mil gave me one and I ran the same setup on my issued rifle for years. I would feel ackward if I didn’t have the tank on my personal gun. And the throw lever makes it nice if I do want to run a lightweight gun for whatever reason bbull311

Lots of nice, friendly people here (for the most part), great hunting, and of course the best manufacturer of ARs is here also. dogrobber13 4/8/2012 10:08:18 PM EDT Originally Posted By USMC2147: Originally Posted By AlvinYork: Damn, I gotta get out of this fucking state and move closer to the center of the AR universe. I usually come back home that way after walking the dog in the county park and stopped a lady in a little coupe from trying to drive through the water, she was upset that she couldn’t go I should have let her go, but I’m sure Leander was busy enough with other things. I hear ya. There’s still water going over the top of it from the last rain. I gets my purty little feets wet going both ways on that low-water crossing. I imagine that little bridge will get changed out in pretty short order as development continues. Which will be sad…when I was a kid that was the standard-issue “bridge” in these parts. As a boy, one of the many useful things my father taught me was how to judge when NOT to go across one.
