Both Mesa Tactical and Cavalry Arms sell similiar products for the 870, the SST-870 from Cavalry and the M4 Stock and Rail kit from Mesa. I’ve mounted a gen2 Holosight on an 11-87 “new style” cantilever FR slug barrel for a slug gun for my wife. Works great. The standard comb stock may be a little low for you for proper cheek weld. Don’t confuse the first gen Remington cantilever scope mount from a ~decade ago. They WERE flimsy. New ones are good.

I prefer a Leupold 2-7X shotgun scope myself on my dedicated deer blasting set-up.
gunsmithdude Well after only one year of casual use, my EOTech 551 has failed. I changed out the batteries and it didn’t work. I tried another set of batteries and it still didn’t work. Either it’s stuck on NV, or it’s shot?

I recently bought a 552; I like it better than my Aimpoint for shooting past 100yards because of the fine 1MOA inner dot. The Aimpoint covers too much of the target.

The eyepiece cap is deep enough to engage the Rifle Scope body in front of the focusing ring, so now the focusing ring can’t move easily unless I remove the cap. Before installing the caps mine wasn’t loose enough to move under recoil, but then again my TR24 is mounted on a 5.56 Sig-not a 308 MBR like yours. I’ve used just about every ACOG model and the only one I have never liked was the 3×24 model. The TA50′s have horrible eye relief! Finally got my C&R Yugo from the store today. I don’t think this thing has ever been cleaned.Did that SKS Rifle Stocks Bullpup stock ever go anywhere? Does anyone have one? I have an SKS Rifle Stocks that I would like to make a little more interesting.

The main differences are:
-OBR has the 10 MOA cant top rail, which will assist with longer range applications as the scope can be setup with a higher elevation before sight-in adjustments. (I believe this is how it works, I’m not really 100% sure as I haven’t researched it much). The PredatAR has the standard 0 MOA cant top rail.

-OBR has a heavier barrel profile, the PredatAR has a light-weight barrel profile. The heavier barrel will be able to absorb more heat and will exhibit less flexing while firing and may be better for pure precision applications. The PredatAR’s lighter barrel is great for CQB or competitions where speed is going to be the most important. It is also still extremely accurate as any LaRue Tactical rifle will be. But it shouldn’t be just as consistently accurate as the OBR (at least, on paper).

I think those are pretty much it. Someone more knowledgeable (or those that own both) can drop in and add some more info.

I used it for about 500 rounds before trading it for a different optic. I never had to change the batteries from the ones that were in it when I got it. (I bought it used from someone else.) My only complaint was the ARMS throw levers didn’t seem to hold it tight enough. With the levers closed I could still move the EOTech back and forth in the rail slots. I didn’t have the manual so it’s possible that I could have adjusted how tight the levers got and not known about it, but I did try to figure out a way and couldn’t. The operator would be dropping in their Remington 700 into this stock if they so choosed. The specs are designed for a factory Remington 700/M24.
